Regal Rexnord is a global manufacturer of electric motors and mechanical power transmission components. This project focused on employee training through an interactive fire-risk simulation game that tracks performance and provides real-time analytics through a custom dashboard.
The company needed a dynamic, engaging way to train employees in high-risk scenarios—specifically, fire evacuation and emergency protocols within industrial environments. They envisioned a simple yet realistic simulation where workers could practice decision-making under pressure. Beyond gameplay, it was essential to capture performance data and generate insights to help managers identify trends and improve overall safety readiness.
We studied common workplace fire hazards and analyzed how employees typically respond to high-stress situations. Our goal was to design a game that was not only intuitive and visually clear, but also capable of collecting detailed metrics without overwhelming the user. We identified the most relevant data points for supervisors—such as response time, success rate, and decision flow—to ensure actionable reporting. We also explored how gamification could increase employee motivation and engagement with training tasks.
The final product was an internal web platform that combined interactive training and advanced reporting. Employees could log in, complete the simulation, and view their scores and progress. Admins had access to a powerful dashboard to track trends, evaluate individual performance, and identify team members who might require further training. The project led to higher participation rates, improved visibility on employee readiness, and a more effective training approach across the organization.
“The training platform helped transform the way we approach safety education. Employees engaged with the simulation actively, and the performance data gave us real insight into how prepared our teams are for real-world emergencies.”
