OXXO Electronic Shelf Labels
We designed and built a full end-to-end Electronic Shelf Label system for OXXO, one of the largest convenience store chains in Latin America. The project spanned custom IoT hardware, embedded firmware, cloud infrastructure, and a web-based management platform, all working together at scale.
OXXO was updating thousands of store price tags manually, a process taking over 8 hours per store per cycle and introducing costly pricing errors across the network. They needed a reliable, scalable system that could push real-time price updates to every shelf label simultaneously, without disrupting store operations.
We engineered a complete IoT ecosystem: custom ESL hardware with e-ink displays, proprietary firmware for wireless communication, and a cloud platform capable of managing over 500,000 devices. A network of access points in each store enables price updates across every label in under 2 minutes, all managed from a single dashboard.
