Lustre — An Editorial Guide to Diamonds and Gems
We designed and built Lustre, a video-driven interactive editorial experience that teaches anyone to understand what makes a gem valuable. The site walks through gemstone types, the factors that determine value (origin, size, quality, color, cut, clarity, carat), the treatments applied to gems, the optical phenomena they produce, and the difference between natural, mined, and lab-grown gems, all backed by gemological references and GIA certification.
Diamond and gem buyers often face a purchase decision without clear criteria to evaluate what they're actually buying. Lustre needed to educate these buyers before the purchase, giving them the tools to understand what truly determines a gem's value instead of relying solely on what a salesperson tells them.
We built a scroll-driven narrative experience with video integrated into every section, guiding the user from basic gemology concepts to reading a real GIA certificate, with a content structure designed to build depth progressively without overwhelming the reader.
